Did you know this about irises?

With iris season upon us, I thought I'd let you in a little know fact about irises. Did you know there are about 300 different species of irises and they come in different colours?!

When you think are an iris, are you imagining that blue/purple flower that has about 3 petals? (It's technically 3 petals and 3 sepals if you want to be specific, but anyway, I think we're picturing the same thing, right?).

Did you know irises could be yellow?!

I think the yellow irises are absolutely striking and they could fit into our bright bouquets or even our sympathy bouquets. Yellow flowers seem to be somewhat diving amongst customers, traditionally yellow and white flowers were often sent as condolence flowers but now I'm seeing a rise in people buying yellow flowers for happy occasions such as birthday flowers or flowers for the birth of a baby. I also see people buying yellow flower bouquets as a gift for themselves as they are so bright and cheerful and what better feeling is there than coming home to a happy arrangement after a long day?
